Dimensions Of Role

The Environment and Safety, Health is in charge of the business’s safety, health environment, and quality assurance side of the business. She/he supervises and coordinates work systems to ensure that the organization complies with environmental regulations and standards related to pollution and waste management and that the working conditions of the company are favorable and safe. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare or update health, safety, and environmental management plans, review them regularly, and keep them up to date at all times. 
• Promoting the implementation of safe working practices on the company by ensuring all employees are familiar with and understand, to the best of their ability, safe working practices
• Ensure that the company environment is kept tidy at all times to maintain environmental sanitation and health and promote the company’s image. 
• Ensure good a waste management system 
• Assists the implementation of new or existing environment-related legislation, rules, and Company standards to include fire prevention, health and safety awareness training, site inspections of our company and cleaning sites
• Assist compliance manager with preparations for annual audits and Quality Assurance
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and enforce preventative measures on Environment, health, and safety.
• Organize, coordinate and conduct relevant environment and OSH training for employees. 
• Organize and facilitate of the activities of occupational health and safety and environment committee 
• Ensure wastes are disposable with applicable laws and industry best practice. 
• Ensure a safe workplace environment is maintained at all times without risk to health and safety of everyone.
• Ensure full and accurate health and safety training records are documented.
• Provide regular reports to the Compliance Manager on relevant Environmental and health and safety activities.
• Performing and maintaining proper and updated recording and filling system. 
• Participate in meetings to report on relevant health & safety matters and to provide necessary advice.
• Any other tasks assigned by her/ his supervisor. 

Salary: As per the scale of the company 

Job Requirements

 Educational Background

•     BSC in Environmental Science and related field of study.  

Work Experience 

• Fresh Graduate 

 Skills 

• Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn. 
• Able to work with minimum supervision. 
• Basic Computer Skills, MS word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; both in English & Amharic 
• Proactivity
