Job Description
The Canteen Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including ordering supplies, preparing food, and serving customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily canteen operations, including food preparation, service, and clean-up.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all canteen activities from opening to closing.
- Manage inventory levels of food and supplies.
- Order and procure supplies from vendors and negotiate contracts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as required.
- Prepare and manage the canteen budget, tracking expenses and revenues.
- Implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
- Develop and update the canteen menu to offer a variety of healthy and appealing options.
- Work with chefs and staff to create daily specials and seasonal offerings.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Conduct regular safety drills and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and staff performance.
- Prepare and present regular reports to management on canteen operations and performance.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hotel management or a related field is preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in a managerial role within the food service industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to manage budgets and financial reports.
