Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on a variety of issues related to international oil and gas exploration, production and distribution;
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements such as joint operation agreements, service contracts, construction contracts and oil and gas sales contracts with both domestic and international partners, production sharing agreements;
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian laws and regulations pertaining to the oil and gas industry, including transportation, environmental, health and safety standards, etc.;
- Advise on dispute resolution matters, including arbitration and litigation, related to oil and gas operations; represent the company in negotiations and legal proceedings, coordinating with external counsel as required;
- Collaborate closely with other departments to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with petroleum operations and business strategies;
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and above in Law from an accredited university;
- English is the working language of the Company. Proficiency level of listing, reading, writing and speaking in English is required. The ability to communicate in Chinese or having ever studied in China is an advantage.
