Job Title: Import/Export Documentation Specialist
Overview:
The Import/Export Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing and managing all documentation necessary for the efficient and legal import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in import/export documentation in a manufacturing, import/export, or logistics environment.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws and customs regulations.
- Proficient in import/export software.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage documentation (bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations).
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws and company policies.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders for timely documentation submission.
- Verify the accuracy of all import/export documentation.
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams for necessary documentation.
- Maintain organized records of all transactions for audits.
- Monitor shipments to ensure timely clearance.
- Stay updated on changes in trade regulations.
- Assist in resolving customs-related issues.
- Prepare reports on import/export activities and compliance.
