Job Summary:
A Junior Accountant is an entry-level position within an accounting department. They work closely with Accountants and provide support in various financial tasks. The primary responsibilities of a Junior Accountant include assisting in the processing of financial statements, reviewing expenses and payroll records, updating financial data in databases, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reports. They may also assist in tax preparation, maintain financial records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting guidelines.
• Review expenses, payroll records, and other financial data as assigned.
• Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and availability when needed.
• Help senior accountants with accounting operations and month-end procedures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Prepare tax returns and filings.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Identify and report any financial discrepancies or irregularities.
• Perform tasks to support audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Work Experience:
• A round 2+ years of experience of work.
Competencies/ Personal attributes:
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
